A good teacher is something we all need in our lives. Someone who will stay with us when we give bad debate mocks, someone who will bring us back from giving 2.5 minutes speeches to 8 minutes speeches, someone who will stay- in both the good and bad days. The culture of student-teacher relationship runs deep in Eldr, we believe that as mentors, students should always have someone they can confide in. Who they can trust on, who they can have a healthy relationship with. Most students join debating in search of finding a voice, building confidence and learning conversation skills. In Eldr, we enhance those skills by not just debate, but by having free conversations, understanding each-other, and building a connection. In most cases, kids suppress their inner voice out of fear of judgement, from the people around them. Out of the anxiety, that the people they trust would disagree with them, and bring conflict. And that is why, Eldr has always prioritized, student-teacher bonding. So that, kids would have a safe place, where they would be able to freely express their point of view. That looks like them learning how to make conversations, they would learn how to form bonds on their own. And that is why this skill is so essential to us at eldr.
Because by giving students, a way to express their ideas, on a platform, where they could trust the people around them, we get happier, smarter, and more confident kids, who will be assured in themselves.
